About Aliberg Media

The Aliberg Media is a London-based social enterprise empowering under-represented creatives and journalists from marginalized communities, such as ethnic minorities, disabled individuals, and the working class. Through training, mentoring, and providing access to resources, we aim to help them break into the creative industry and achieve elite-level success. Our core focus is video production and content creation, alongside storytelling through film, audio, writing, and photography.

The Story

Removing the immediate barriers to achieving a career breakthrough in the creative and journalism industry for under-represented sections of society.

About The Founder

Hamse Abdilahi is a creative journalist, podcaster, and filmmaker. With a passion for grassroots issues and unheard voices, his work is inspired by his studies at Oxford and his documentary films on London’s gentrification. He founded The Aliberg Media to help marginalized creatives and journalists succeed.

The Breakthrough Now Scheme

The Breakthrough Now Scheme is the flagship talent programme of the Aliberg Media. It is a unique comprehensive programme to help aspiring creatives and journalists achieve major professional career breakthroughs regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds. Access to Work Grants Received

The Aliberg Media is a recipient of the Access to Work grants from the Department of Work and Pensions of the UK Government. The grants paid for a Support Worker, who helped in the organisation’s outdoor filming activities. The Support Worker was essential in the successful completion of various small projects run by the organisation. We hope to continue receiving this grant in the coming years so that we can continue helping under-represented creatives and journalists. We take a great pride in our work and securing this grant was essential in reducing our operating cost.
